ANXIETY

Anxiety

 

Anxiety is something everyone experiences from time to time. It is natural and can function as a warning sign to some kind of threat. We can experience these as external ones, i.e. an upcoming exam, or internal ones, i.e. a scary memory.

 

Where this is natural to be anxious, without an internal or external reason anxiety can have a big effect on our day to day functioning.

We might start avoiding potential triggers because the feeling of anxiety is so painful and difficult to manage. Physically it can experss itself through sweaty pamls, racing heart rate, breathlessness or feeling panicky. There are many more ways anxiety can be experienced.

 

There are many forms of anxiety all of which might have different origins that could be short or long term stressfull evnts events, or reasons for it might be hard to pinpoint to anything specific. Sometimes anxiety is accompanied by depressive symtoms too.

 

There are a variety of things you can do about it. It does not have to stay a limiting factor in life.
